  • Life Church invites everyone to attend no matter your background. . So whatever your life background, you’ll fit in fine.
  • There is no “dress code.” Wear jeans, shorts, sandals, or even a suit, if that’s your thing. Be you and be comfortable.
  • You won’t be pressured to sing, sign, or join anything. Relax and move at your own pace.
  • You will be greeted by friendly volunteers as you come into the church.  They’re there to help you in any way they can.
  • We serve coffee in the lobby—and you are more than welcome to take it into the service.
  • Children’s classes for all ages are safe & exciting and offered during service. 
  • The music will be a moving mix of uplifting, energetic, & passionate songs. Sing along or just listen!
  • Pastor Scott’s messages are 100% based on Scripture and applied to how Jesus would have us live out our life's journey.
  • You will not be bored or beat up! You will leave feeling better than when you came!
  • We love questions and offer guidance to anyone who asks.

MISSION

Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers. 

VISION

We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls, but we make it an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our city changed.

Far too often we let minor theological differences cause great divides between us.  That is not our desire at Life Church.  Though we are an Assembly of God church and hold true to our doctrine we want to allow for the minor differences we often find in those who attend our services.  If you would like to learn more about our beliefs and even read some position papers on several of today's "hot topics" please go to www.ag.org

CHURCH HISTORY

Life Church began as Colonial Heights Assembly of God in 1965. The first service was held on August 6, 1965. 

Throughout the 60-year history of our Church, God has proven Himself faithful in every way. We are truly thankful for His blessings: Pastors who have
served us faithfully and in love; finances to support our expanding ministries; and a wonderful Church family who have a real sense of "community" in their love for each other and God.

 

God continues to write the story of Life Church. The ministry continues under the wonderful anointing of the Holy Spirit. God continues supplying our needs in every area. We live in anticipation of our bright, Holy Spirit led future.

Scott Tischler

Lead Pastor

Pastor Scott leads Life Church with a passion for God and God's people! He brings God's biblical truth into our church and hopes to be like Jesus in his words and actions. He values honor, truth, grace, and love... Seeking to represent Jesus in his every day life!

Penny Tischler

Cherish Sisterhood / LSSM

Pastor Penny is the wonderful wife to our lead Pastor! She carries a mantle of anointing, calling heaven down in the house of God! Penny is over our growing women's ministry called "Cherish Sisterhood" and also a leader of our Life School of Supernatural Ministry's group.

Mike Cherry

Connections & Care

Pastor Mike always brings a smile and a high five into Life Church! He carries the joy of The Lord in his mindset and demeanor in his everyday! Pastor Mike plays acoustic guitar on our worship team and is active with our prayer team.

Patrick Fuller

Media Ministry

Pastor Patrick makes our Sunday mornings run smooth to everything from hot fresh coffee before church begins to making sure our building, inside and out, is in great shape. Anything that needs fixed, he's our guy! Pastor Patrick brings his best in serving God and God's house... Including a swift and to the point sermon when he gets up on the pulpit to preach every once in while!

Dustin Shifflett

Family Ministries / Worship

Pastor Dustin brings unstoppable energy and a deep love for Jesus to Life Church. He’s all about  powerful worship and leading students into a real, life-changing relationship with God. Known for his fun, high-impact style and passionate heart for the next generation, Pastor Dustin’s mission is simple: ignite faith, inspire worship, and point every student straight to Jesus.

Alison Hurley

LCA School Administrator / LSSM

Pastor Alison is the Administrator for our school "Life Christian Academy". She is a woman of prayer and anointing! Alison is a lead on our worship team and is active in our prayer team for our church as well as a leader of our Life School of Supernatural Ministry's group.
